Somewhere Over England:
Somewhere Over England were formed back the '80s as a partnership between Chris Donovan (vocals and guitar) and Dave Baldock (bass). The band played to great acclaim for years in England gaining a reputation for powerful indie ballads at a time when such music was not as popular as it is now. In many ways the band was ahead of their time delivering powerful social comment woven with bittersweet love songs in a driving hybrid of Folk, Indie and Pop.
To imagine their sound, think The Cure's 'Friday I'm in Love' meets REM's 'Losing My Religion' quirky, thoughtful and strangely anthemic. And played with a refreshing honesty. No one can hear their classic hit - 'If I Ever Fall In Love' - which was a hugely popular song in Spain at the beginning of the '90s without remembering that glorious Summer of 1991 when the world looked great and in when the that magical city was re discovering itself and people were dancing and dancing and dancing. This was a city’s heyday and the sound track to that was this soaring, wonderful song - If I Ever Fall In Love‚ played to great acclaim at the open Festival of ‘40 Principales’ Cadena SER - Las Fallas in Valencia (Spain) 1991 in Paseo de la Alameda for more than half a million persons.
If I ever Fall in Love is a song, which can melt the hardest, most cynical heart. Written when Chris was 17 the song always seemed to have a life of its own with its subtle melodies and almost perfect balance.
After doing all the music TV programmes in Spain, doing an extensive tour of Spain in more than 15 cities, sold over 20,000 copies of the single and even more of the album, the band decided to take a break and to carry on doing other individual projects.
In 1998 the band got together to do some concerts, do to the selling of a Somewhere Over England compilation, released at the end of 1997 in different countries. Places like Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and obviously in Spain, hade the chance to see them alive and kicking!

The DVD will contain bios, photos and footage of live as well as the band messing around…. The CD&DVD pack will be released in England, Spain and Germany, with more countries been interested and having talks with world Somewhere Over England licensor, Capricorn Productions, SL.
